Addiction in Your Twin Flame Union

Addiction is when we replace God with something else, in a certain area. For me and my Twin Flame, personally, it has been one of the most challenging blocks in our union and life. I suffer from addiction to cigarettes and my Twin Flame does as well. He also is a bit addicted to alcohol. We use these substances to numb out (to avoid feeling our feelings) and to replace God in those areas. We have been working through this for many years. I had quit smoking for a few months, but i started smoking again, because I hadn’t fully healed the block at the core. Today, actually, for the first time in a while- i realised that my health has been very much damaged by smoking. For the past two weeks or so, I have been coughing and even finding it harder than usual to breathe. I finally made the choice to heal it at the core. I went within myself and asked myself what I need here in this place that feels like she needs a cigarette; she told me she needs peace and to make the choice of life over death. I immediately decided to smoke my last cigarettes, and wake up tomorrow as a non smoker. Something I realised about myself is that for me, I need to quit cold turkey. That doesn’t usually work for most people, but for me it is the only way. I created a few posters to hang around the house, to help me ground my new choices. I wrote things like “I choose my Health over cigarettes and addiction”, “I choose my wealth over cigarettes and addiction”, “I choose life over death”, “I choose my happiness and self love over cigarettes and addiction”. I finally feel motivated to heal this at the core, for good; because I choose to feel good, over anything else; and this addiction makes me feel really bad. I just wanted to share for anyone who may be going through the same process. It isn’t easy and so it’s super important to have tons of compassion for yourself.
